Tried to Restore & LOST it ALL !

After backing up was taking hours, my wife tried to restore her phone & all it shows is the Emergency call Screen & will not connect to Itunes, What do I do folks ??

Try to reinstall itunes and start over.

worst case scenereo, install iTunes on a seperate computer and restore from there. No reason to go all the way to the apple store just so they can plug it in a different computer and restore it there.

I think this confirms my suspicions about corrupt backup files. I believe your backup file was, in fact, corrupt which is what was causing the ridiculously long backup times and why you weren't able to restore successfully from the backup file.

Hopefully she had contacts and calendar events synced elsewhere. I'm really not sure the if genius bar will be able to help you get that data back othewise.

Turns out that my wife jacks with the phone by resetting etc. ... for twenty mins. & it finally went back, then she was able to finish it out. Now it's fine. I appreciate the help & I believe your right about the corrupt file. . . . I'll look into it more.
