App update question in iTunes.

I have an intermittent problem when I open my Applications tab in iTunes. Sometimes the notice on the bottom of the screen will say that there are updates for 1 of my applications. When I click on the message, I get a message that no updates exist.

What gives?

I noticed sometimes it takes a sync or two before that message goes away.

I've seen it happen to me, too. Sometimes, I'll update and the "1" will stay for much longer than I would have thought. It's just a matter of timing. I think the App Store update feature only polls the system so often.
