Prolly more than most of us wanna pay, but Shure's apparently coming out with a $40 adapter that you can plug existing headphones into. The members over at Head-Fi.org--true audiophiles--are really miffed about having $200 in-ear headphones that don't fit into the weird jack.

Couldn't find it on the Shure website, though.

They'll probably come out with a dedicated headphone as well with capability to answer calls, volume adjuster, etc.

I found one on ebay for like 7 or 8 bucks that I like that's white and fits into the headphone jack perfectly. I have tried it out with the sure e2c's and some Sony noise cancelling earbuds I have and no distortion or hums so far.

I stopped at Radio Shack and bought an extension cable (6") and used scissors to trim off about 1/8" of the rubber boot and it fits perfectly in the IPHONE and I can use my Bose headphones now.

Unfortunately, that's not due out until sometime in August.
But it does include controls for answering calls, and of course, a mic.

Just writing to confirm an earlier post by eplantz,
and bigviking regarding the shoulder of a plug getting
trimmed back to allow it to fully mate with the iPhone
output jack.

I wanted to plug a cord from the iPhone jack into the
auxiliary input jack on the dash of my Saturn Vue
in order to play the iPhone through the car stereo system.

It does indeed work.

I also notice that if you shut the “EQ” off to allow the car
stereo equalizer to adjust the sound to your listening
preference that it works better than having the iPhone
equalizer set to a particular setting.

You find the EQ settings by going to Settings from the
home screen to, iPod, and then EQ.

Sure sounds good.

just go to ebay and get an adapter that properly fits so you don't need to cut anything. I agree the belkin one sucks but ebay has a white one that looks like an apple part.

I too went the L-Adapter route from Radio Shack, although mine cost $3.99. I feel ripped off! On top of that, the one I bought had damaged packaging. Anyways, it works great with my Shure e2s and is much cleaner than the Belkin, Griffin, or even Shure MPA adapters I've seen. Here, look for yourself. I do need to clean up the cuts though, kinda messy.

I saw a video on engadget regarding Headphones for IPhone, If I can locate again I will post it. Anyways you can take the headphones that came with your IPhone dismantle the earbuds soilder off the wires and re soilder any earbuds of your choice.

I have never soildered before and accomplished this in about ten minuted its easy, and you get to keep all functions of click button on IPhone wires.
