home button not working

Hi, pals!

There is two days that the home button in my iPod Touch is not working each and avery time I press it. Sometimes it works, sometimes don't. This morning it really stopped working. I did not drop it recently (altough I dropped it a few times), so I don't think this is the culprit.

Taking it to an Apple Store under warranty is not an option.

Does anyone had this same problem? Does anyone have a solution? Any clues?

take it to someone that repairs phones, and make sure he worked with ipod touch/iphone

Yes, I've had this problem for a couple months now. I wish I could give you some good advice, but I have no idea how to fix it. What I can tell you that might help is that it comes and goes...mine didn't work consistently for several weeks, then it started working well for a few weeks, now it doesn't work again. It is quite possibly the most frustrating issue I can imagine (when your phone only has one button on it, and that button breaks, you're really out of luck). Of course Apple support tells you to restore it or take it to a store--I didn't live near a store at the time (and now I'm out of warranty), but I can tell you that restoring doesn't help.
