so my touch pad on my macbook pro sometimes just sucks. i'd say 90% of the time it is flawless, but then there are times where it just won't respond, and i have to either restart or use the side of it to click on something, and then it starts working again sorta. wondering if anyone has had an issue with this, and what i can do about it? will apple replace this or should i not even bother? i've had my MBP since like march and i love it, but i doubt this should be happening.

I totally agree that this should not be happening. I have had my MBP since March and have not experienced anything like this. I would certainly make a trip to Apple and explain the problem.

How long have you had your MBP? Is it still under warranty?

You should be fine. The one thing i suggest is when you do go to the Apple Store and make an appointment HERE (http://www.apple.com/retail/). Otherwise you might have to wait in a line little bit.

yah, i've had to wait in line for an appointment for my V1 iphone, any clue how they would handle this, there is no way i could give up my computer for them to fix (full time student) so if it was deemed a warranty issue, would they fix it on the spot, give me a loaner, or give me a new comp?

What I had to do, they ship off your computer, no loaner, it gets overnighted, then for however long it takes to fix, they send it back overnight, then you have it. my guess a 3-5 day turnaround. Sucks but in the end you will have a happy track pad!

damn, i'm gonna have to call them up and see, no way i can go 3-5 days without my comp. thanks for the info, i'll have to see what my options are. if i'm still under warranty during xmas break i'll have to wait until then.

yeah, the standard Apple warranty is one year, and if you got applecare, then it's even longer.

My trackpad has been ok, with the exception of scrolling through cover flow... it often screw up with that.
