I'm a programmer but have no experience with mac/cocoa... and I set up my mac tonight and to be honest was intimidated/lost. Does anyone have any links/tips to help ease myself in?
I'd love to create something like dragging an image/object to another location...
Any help is appreciated!

Kaitlyn, I too am new to the SDK and Mac. Ill be getting my Mac in September when the new MBPs come out. But in the mean time Ive been doing some research to help get aquainted with Cocoa and Objective-C. Here is a couple of links I found.

Nope, nothing can be done on Windows other than going through some of these tutorials.

I can understand why, but wouldn't it make more sense for them to make it work on Windows as well?
I could always use my wifes mac to do this, but I am on a Windows PC the majority of the day.

They'd need to port over their entire development framework (i.e. the underpinnings of Mac OS X that make the Xcode IDE work), all of the building tools for the iPhone, etc... They're too small of a company still to be able to throw manpower at it like that. They're already overextended as it is. (Mac hardware, Mac OS X, iPod, iPhone, iTunes, Apple TV, Mobile Me, iLife & Pro apps, etc...)
Doesn't make it suck any less, though...I'm restricted to PCs due to being monetarily challenged, so I can only pray that my Hackintosh keeps working long enough for me to get a bright idea out there in the app store and bring me some good fortune.
