Sorry to hear that...I got lucky yet again and didn't even get an inch of rain all day

Tragedy averted. Cable and internet working again. Which is good, since the 3G ate all my battery and I had to plug in the iphone. And the cord is short, so I was not comfy on the couch. Now I have TV and Macbook. Great combo!

It really hasn't been that bad here, either. I do not know why the cable went out. It will get worse tonight. The eye is supposed to go over us tomorrow early am.

I just moved into my new apartment Sunday and they can't connect the internet OR TV until tomorrow. I've been surviving from the tethered 3G speeds since Sunday. I'm going stir crazy.

Glad to see you got your stuff back Lisa. It hasn't rained here in Gainesville all day. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be worse though.

Was the move to NY a drastic one ? , like did you have trouble adapting?

not at all. i never fit in with the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale scene, so coming to Brooklyn was more like returning home than anything else. if you're thinking about it, dont wait. there's none of the pretentious crap in NY that envelopes all of sofla.

Yes, I live in a Bright House. The worst problem here has been flooding and several small sinkholes have opened up. One is right near my neighborhood.

iLive in a bright house too! lol. We have had no problems whatsoever with flooding in my subdivision, or anything in the entire city. Yah some streets are somewhat flooded but its being draned into a retention pond. That's scary, I am afraid of sinkholes. No way would I ever want to live near one.

At least it's taking a most westerly turn. Much more rain in Florida and I think we're going to burst.

If this guy will turns even near the oil refineries in the gulf and gas prices will raise! This is not good at all. :frown::frown::frown: (yes, a rare triple frown)

Oh dang! I didn't even think of that, not fun. Just when prices were dropping enough to be "cheap" too. I ran into a Venezuelan couple today (Venezuela being home of the $0.12 a gallon gas of course) how they liked the gas prices in the U.S. and they were not very pleased.
