Iphone 3G "OTHER" 2.34GB????

Hey i just got my iphone 3g 2 days ago and i was looking at it in itunes and this is what it says.

Audio = 2.11 GB

photos = 494kb

Other = 2.34GB

Free = 2.56 GB

What is with the other 2.34? i only have like 50mb worth of apps. so wtf is with this please help i need to free up space.

But i still have my videos bar.

I would have thought it would be the apps, but apps dont take that much up.
Check your itunes library, see whats in there, cause when you sync, all goes in.

i have these apps: brain tuner, cannon challenge, checkplease, currency, facebook, flashlight, hanoi, ipint, newtons cradle, pocket express, speedbox, tap tap revenge, tris, unicon. and thats all so wtf?

Sounds high for "other", try a restore...on my v1 8gig i had 450mb "other" , so i did a restore and it dropped to 194..and on 3g 16 gig i have 594mb...which seems right.

im assuming you have an 8gig? but just to let you know you don't get to use all 8gigs of your hard drive you only get 7 or so due to the OS on the iphone

Does the capacity bar list podcasts as podcasts or other (I can't remember off the top of my head). That's where a lot of my space went, so I just took them off.

Take a snapshot, upload it to your profile album and post it here.

Do you have a lot of voice mails saved on your phone? All voice mails download to your phone, so if you have a TON that could be it.

dont forget the actual OS itself...

when i first plugged my 16 gb, itunes reported like 15.something BEFORE i added anything.

also, dont forget, computer makers dont count in absolute numbers. 1 gb = like .97 gb on our windows network... 1K = 1024 bytes... and so on...

I restores it.. then i deleted all music and ****.. tols it not to sync anything. and it still says that!?!?

I deleted all emails and texts and photos and it still didnt go down any. PLEASE HELP ME!

Looks like something else must be wrong.

Do you have time to take it to Apple and maybe get a new one?

hell just go and put everything you want on it and see if it will take it all. thats what i would do. as long as you get everything i wouldnt worry about the numbers.
