I really don't understand why my phone does this....whenever a new update has come up, I try to install it regularly, right (through itunes-->summary-->update), but it always throws up error 6. If I download the file to my computer than shift+click on "check for update" and select the new file, it works fine. WHY?

This time, I forgot to download the file (2.0.2), so it keeps giving me error 6 messages. I've tried DFU waay too many times...Can anyone help me out with this/upload the file?

Thanks...

Come on, please. I made a new user account, and managed to install 2.0.2 on the phone. But now, I (obviously...) will lose my sms/notes/whatnot if I just sync. I want to restore from my old backup, but have no idea how to....

Please??

I would not create a new user and installed. If you did not jailbreak your phone, you will have to trick iTune into thinking that you need to restore. If you really want to get things back where it was, and you have a good back up of your data from your iPhone, you DO Have BACKUP. right??

Providing that you have back up of your data on iPhone. In iTune
download the software and know where it is and then go to the restore button instead of update. hookup and restore your iPhone to the original state it was when you bought it, then you will sync your phone in iTune from the backup that stored in your computer.
If you have a jailbroken Phone I can give you another solution, but I need to know what you use to jailbreak, ie. Zibri or pwnage? let me know... there is always a way.

So, I did not jailbreak, but the entire problem lies in the fact that I cannot restore. I do have a backup, but have no way to access it at this point (itunes won't let me go to the new/backup choices menu).

As of now, my phone (as a phone) works (since I restored from another user), but my sms and notes will not be on the phone. Is there a way to sync a backup?
