Contacts order?

When I go to my contacts, some are sorted under their last name while others are sorted under their first. Why the inconsistency and how do I change it?

I was wondering why I couldn't find some contacts!

Look at the Contacts settings (Settings->Main, Contacts, Calendar) and make sure the Sort Order and Display order are consistent. If they are, edit one of the Contacts that look different from what the Settings say they should be and make sure the data in the fields is correct (i.e contact Last Name is really in the Last Name field and not in the Company or whatever).

Hmm, looks like maybe they did get messed up. They all came from same place though - Outlook... and I know in outlook they are all proper...

Look at sort order and display order and realign it a few times until it savers

But it seems when I go to some, for example, their full name appears in the "last name" field...

it may be how you have them entered..if i listed my friend as firstname: chrislast name: muiikjh then i am ok. if ilist chrismuliklh in the first name field...then he has no last name..make sense?

Ya except these are synced from Outlook and they are entered FINE in outlook
