Hello everybody. I was synching my girls iphone 3g to get "epocrates" a free application from apple for medical professionals. Well the synch process didn't complete and the phone read "error occurred." I had to reset her entire phone, basically everything on her phone is gone. Are her contacts gone forever or are they stored in the sim card? I don't understand what happened. All I did was connect her phone to get a application now she lost everything. Everything ran smoothly for my 3g, but it won't seem to synch for hers. Now she's pi$$ed at me cause she lost all her contacts. The phone was frozen at the apple emblem not doing anything. When I disconnected then reconnected to my pc - it said I have to restore the phone. The phone works now, but can I get her contacts back??

If she added them manually (on the phone itself) then no, she cannot get the contacts back. If they are on her computer, like her Address Book if she has a Mac, then yes, she can get her contacts back. I'm guessing that since she's your girlfriend, you know a lot of the same people so just offer to transfer numbers from your phone to hers by doing it manually on hers and also buy her some flowers and it should fix the whole issue if it happens that the contacts are not on her computer.

I agree with what iChristian said, if the phone was backed up at least once, her contacts should still be on the computer in a backup file, so all you need to do is a resync or if your still getting an error then a restore.

no you cant get the contacts back unless she synced them to one of the supported contact sites through itunes, i suggest doing that from now on
