Why do the icons wiggle when you hold them down?

When they start to wiggle it means you can move them around and customize your home screens. Also, an "X" appears cause you can delete icons from your home screen when they start to wiggle.

Hold down the home button and they stop.

omg...that is so cool. BTW: I just realized the thread of this post sounds like the old Weeble Wobble comercial (i guess i'm dating myself)...Weebles wobble but they don't fall down. anyways....thank you!
