ok i have the black 16gb 3g well last night i was walking up my drive way and yea damn phone slip right out my hand and i try caught it and didnt work out so now i have a crack on the glass in the black part you cant really see that it there but i know it is and i cant stand it so i guess i have buy a new one so trying think get the white one this time or go back black if anyone has a white one tell me why you bought it and why you like it i kinda want get it to be differnt snice i owned the black one already and i wish there way i trick apple in to switching out phones like something wrong with mine haha but white or black

Even though I have it in an orange case right now, the white just looks super clean. Plus everybody has the black, people have been like oh you have the white? Yeah...white. Look into parts replacement tho cuz that's what we are doing with my friends 3g. Cracked screens suck.

I got the white, and so far I am still happy with it. I did have to return the first one a couple of hours later b/c of a brown crack looking blemish on the bottom of the phone, but white is definately slick and sets you apart from the sea of black iPhones :laugh2:

I got the white one because it doesn't show any smudges and I think it just looks cooler than black. How many phones have the option of white? How many are available in black? That's one more reason to get white.

Yea the girl at the apple store said there was nothing they could do. She didn't even offer the upgrade pricing for it so we said eff it and got him the screen from some website we saw a link for on here... If u have money to blow like that then cool but otherwise do a search on cracked screens.

i respectfully disagree. black looks like every other phone out there, it looks cheap, it smudges.....bad. i got the white because my blackjack II was gloss black like the iphone and I couldn't stand it. white is "fancier", cleaner, more high tech looking (like the robot from wall-e). My co-worker and friend just got a black one, we both hate it....

This thread is actually funny. Get the one you want. You'll always have differing opinoins on color choice but in the end it really comes down to what you like.

As for my opinoin I went in on launch day and already knew I wanted the black one. Then one of the employees walking the lines and counting customers said we will have enough in stock when you get to the front and hopefully in the color you want. My heart sank. I didn't want to get stuck with a white one. Once inside the store they had both. For a split second after seeing the white one I almost had a change of heart. It looked unique but then my reasoning kicked in and I figured I had been in line too long. Walked out with my first choice black and have never regretted it.

I have a black 16gb, I have never even seen the white in person so I'm not even sure what I am missing out on.
My reason for choosing black is black mac book+black 3G=style.

Get the black one if you don't want to see all the stress cracks that many people have been reporting. (Both the black and white backs share this cracking issue, but are more noticeable on the white).

Get the white one if you don't care about the stress cracks but don't want to the see the fingerprints.

Seems like each color has it's pro's and con's.....

I'd like to add, that I was quite disappointed when I saw the white one. I thought it'd be really cool and different, but it looks exactly the same on the front! Surely they could have made the front white as well. Oh well, I spose there would have been to much contrast with the screen.

Got the white one and love it. My wife has the black. I have her's in a silicone case and screen protector as well as mine. I mayay eventually get clear cases to show off the shinyness of them. White def. hides smudges better. On my wife's, before putting on the protection, i could see every little thing. Where do u see these stress cracks?

I have a white one and so far so good. You just have to inspect it upon purchase. I am on my 2nd one as the 1st one had a crack. Apple replaced it. The sooner you return it the better as I returned mines within 3 hours of purchase.

I had the black one..had to send it back because i was changing plans and didn't want to have to go with a prorated plan. I decided to try out the white one since it's the one i originally wanted. I'm much happier with the white one, I dont really have to worry about smudges on the back(just the ones on the screen) but with my black one i had to worry about wiping the back and the screen. Also, it's true there are many more black ones out there because people who aren't super computer/tech geeks just go with the cheaper 8 gig one (only in black).

And the white one just looks much cooler..it's almost holy

Well my baby gone shipped her off today to a new home and thank you all for helping and im with you dwp im going get the white one and talked to apple if i get any them stress cracks they switch it out under warranty plus i know 15 people with the 3g and all have black so im going stand out lol

Good choice, I had my doubts all the way up to when the apple employee asked me, which iPhone would you like. But I can tell you a week later, I don't regret it one bit. Trust me you will love your white 16gb iPhone.
