If I remember correctly Apple was sending out muscle to enforce "cease and desist" orders for sites with the word "iPhone" in the URL. I believe there is a sticky posted on this site from the owner Chris explaining the exact reason.

It was changed due to the word iPhone being in the URL, as mentioned above. A bunch of other sites had to change as well - ModMyiFone was ModMyiPhone.

Also, instead of EIC, we used to call the site "EIP". Saying the latter sounds a bit odd now.

My guess is that the problem is advertising it as unlocked. If you simply don't state anything about the lockedness/unlockedness of the phone, it should be fine, right?
