I have seen others post on this topic but I am curious as to how wide spread this is?

Since the 2.0.1 update my iPhone 3G will not locate me using the GPS. the wheel just spins and spins. I realize that GPS will not always be available depending on your location etc - but I was under impression that when GPS was not available Cell tower triangulation would occur (like iPhone V1). This does not seem to happen - although if I switch the 3G radio off It will locate me in a few seconds using the traditional method!

Frustrating, has anyone else experienced similar problems - should I go see Apple!

Mine works, although I must admit it sometimes seems to take longer for the GPS to lock in when 3g is on versus edge or wi-fi. A few times (very few) gps would not lock on at all in areas where it had worked before.

we can all agree that the gps feature on the iphone 3g has some bugs, but all in all it works fine for me

It works perfectly fine for me; always locates me and auto-tracking is dead on. Of course, I always have 3G off because the reception is spotty at best. I don't think going to Apple for this issue will benefit you very much but I could be wrong. It really depends on which genius you get that day.
