Ok so yesterday I finally joined the mobs of people who have broken their screen and was forced to upgrade to the 3g. Having learned that lesson I was wondering if anyone can recomment a case with a flip open hard front or something to that effect that will protect the screen from minor drops and such.
That being said my old phone slid off my car seat and hit the seat rail (4 inch fall) on the earphone piece and cracked the hell out of it. I want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. Thanks

You can find a lot of cases like that in the leather category. Take a look at vajacases.com or senacases.com for some good quality ones.

I'm going to recommend the incase slider. I have one and it works great. Although I don't believe no case is going to protect the screen in a fall. If your iPhone falls and lands on the screen it will break regardless of a case or not.

Although I love my slider case more than any other case I've owned I have to disagree Kenneth. This thing definitely doesn't offer a lot in terms of protection, especially for the screen.

actually in my opinion , the leather cases can do better than the hard cases in a fall. the reason is simply , the hard cases and the iphone are both "Hard",they will crushed in a fall together. but for the leather one , falling to the ground is like to to a sofa , so the iphone will be protected better.

I have a vaja case & love it. It is kinda pricey but IMO worth it. It has the flap cover which protects the screen and I also have the anti glare screen protector on it. When I'm at work sitting at my desk I leave the flap open & pushed towards the back of the phone. When I'm walking or out in public I close the flap to protect the phone. If you're on a call & the phone falls out of your hands just pray it doesn't fall on the screen. If you have a bluetooth device, than you should be pretty much be protected. I have the v1 phone & I also ordered the incase slider on Friday. Even though I love my vaja sometimes I wanna change it up a bit.

I have the switch east rebel case and it works great I heard someone had this case and dropped it in gravel and there wasn't a scratch on the phone or screen.
