Are there other themes located some where on the internet? Or are the themes in cydia the only ones we can use?

You will need to SSH them onto the phone. It's simple. I install all my themes via SSH.
PS. Here's another link, http://www.5ubox.com/html/iphone_theme/index.html

I did a search and could not find it. I don't download themes from repositories onto my phone. I find it best to download them to my computer and upload them to my phone via SSH. That way I can mode and tweak them as I choose.

There is a thread stickied in this section of the forums on how to use SSH. Also, if you go into cydia there is a step by step.

You should use WinSCP to SSH into the iPhone on Windows. Here are instructions for it.
1) Install OpenSSH on the iPhone. This is a package available in Cydia and Installer.
2) Make sure your iPhone and your PC are running on the same network.
3) Make not of your iPhone's IP address by going into Settings > WiFi > tap the blue arrow next to your network and look beside "IP address."
4) Launch WinSCP on your PC.
5) In the "Host Name" field fill in the IP address of your iPhone.
6) In the "username" field, input the word "root" (no quotes) and in the password field, input the word "alpine."
7) Set the File Protocol (drop down menu) to SCP and hit Login.
8) If you're prompted about the server's host key not being in the cache file, just click Yes and you should be connected.
Now you'll see a big menu with many folders. You need to locate the folder in which themes are located. There is a folder for SummerBoard themes (most themes are SummerBoard) and one for WinterBoard themes.
If you're uploading a SummerBoard theme:
Locate the var folder. Open it, and then find the mobile folder - open it. In it, locate the Library folder and open it. In it, find the SummerBoard folder, and in it, find the Themes folder. This is where SummerBoard themes go.
If you're uploading a WinterBoard theme:
Locate the var folder and open it. In it, locate the stash folder. In it, find a folder named Themes.xxxxx (the xxxxx will be replaced by random numbers and letters.) This is where WinterBoard themes go.
Once you've uploaded them themes, reboot your iPhone and open the WinterBoard application Your theme's name will be listed - tap on it and exit the app to use that theme.
