E-Mail Issues?

When im not at my house and connected to 3G im not able to send email. Does anyone know if you have to be connected to wifi in order to send/receive email?

it never works for me and i always get a msg that says "sender adress invalid" but if im on wifi it works fine

I am having this issue and it works better over WiFi then anything else.

I have heard turning the phone off and back on helps.
