I have a jailbroke iphone 3g, i dont live in a 3g area, but when i am in a 3g area i can make a phone call, but can not receive a phone call, it just gives a busy signal and wont work
so i have to turn 3g off and it works fine if im in a 3g area
anyone know what may be wrong with it?

this sound really weird, try restoring your phone as a new phone then re jailbreak it

I would try resetting the phone by holding down the home and sleep buttons together for 10 seconds or so. If that doesn't seem to help then I would suggest doing as Kevlar08 has suggested and that should take care of the issue.

I jailbroke my V1 and it did that too!!! Here's what I suggest: restore it as a new phone completely and just don't have a jailbroken version... it's just so much easier especially when you go into the Apple store and need help and they won't void your warranty when they try to fix your phone. When I restored my jailbroken phone as a new phone, it started working again. That's what I suggest. It may not be what you're looking for but if you can't even use the phone feature itself on the phone, its not even worth it to jailbreak it. Hope this helps.
