Notice for people who are using Chromium iPhone and Glossy Keyboard

If you are using either of these two themes from the Planet-iPhones folder. Do not update. Seems to be a problem with the updates released. Looks like the Chromium artwork ends up all black. and the Glossy Keyboard is not showing up (it's blank).

Uninstalling will not fix the problem(s). You might have to do a restore. Just a heads up. A friend called me up a while ago, going crazy because he can't type anything. All the artwork is black.

unfortunatly i did the upgrade before they were warning people not to. There are a few other options to correct the problem if anyone has already updated and experiencing problems.

but if you have customize already installed and you upgraded the keyboard you can roll back to the original settings from when u made changes with customize. In my case i was able to get my original glossy keyboard back from before the update. just go into customize, custom images/sound, and change all the artwork back to the originalbackup. you must change all the settings under artwork (there are 4). then reboot the phone and all should be welll.

you can also ssh into the phone and manually place the files back. the directions for that are on the link i provided to modmyifone above

EDIT : FYI ..I do not use customize,I learned what a bad program it was last summer when I got my first iphone,it screwed everything up to a point.



You have to enable them 2 items in winterboard,mine ended up at the bottom of the list,now in winterboard when you choose something it slides to the left for some reason ?

I freaked out after the 5 item update yesterday when mine did this.


I first did a hard rest ( top power button and home button at same time,hold for 10 seconds ) then go into winterboard and tap chromium and the glossy and hit the home button,it will rest and walla !!

dang i just saw this thread and start sh!tting bricks when my keyboard wasnt there nomore... but ya all i did was go threw winterboards and put a check mark and got my glossy keyboard back up and running... :wink:

edit ive notice now that i when u push the keyboard it take a close up screen?? anyone experiance this??

I fixed both problems using the original backup from Customize. It seemed to fix the problems.

i am having the same problem but havent heard a fix for it yet.

too late for me...it messed everything up, i just got done restoring and putting 14 gigs of files back on my 3g :/

from what i see in cydia they have fixed this issue. i do not plan on trying it out though.

what I did was go into winterboards and checked the keyboard and now it shows up
