hi guys! i've been using my iphone since last year and i'm still using version 1.1.1 which is pretty old version. anyhow, the reason why i never update my iphone is just because i'm afraid of ruining it. however, i'm here who needs a support or tips from other people if it is possible to upgrade my iphone for the latest firmware on the market without harming or ruining my iphone. i'm hoping for some1 who could help me with this matter.

Well, some people dont like the current update because of lag problems and such, but with 2.0.1 you get access to the app store in itunes, and there are some great apps out there. (and many not so great ones as well), you have to wade through the duds to get to the gems. IMO i would update, for the apps alone, you wont harm your phone at all...the worst that would happen is it might be laggy at times, but that is not the norm i believe, the app store is new, and with every new venture theres bound to be some bugs, it can only get better from this point with future updates.
Also you need the latest itunes installed to update.
Wecome to the forums WMZ...enjoy

have you jailbroken your iphone?

and if so what i suggest you do is go for the update! it does lag but its being sorted out, you've been missing a lot of functionality in the past few months, little small things like moving your icons around and so on!

go for the update, you'll be surprised at all the funky stuff out there so you can give your very own iphone a personal touch!

the apps available vary, i'm sure you'll find stuff in there that will interest you!

if you have jailbroken then i suggest you do a restore first and when it restores it'll update you to the latest software anyway which is currently 2.0.1

enjoy and let us know how you get on

I have 1.1.2 firmware on my phone. It's jailbroke with many applications. Can I just restore my phone also to upgrade to 2.0.1?
