Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if old Jobsie and the Gang quietly release a new 32 gig. Outta Sight!

If we have to wait until 09 for a 32gb iPhone I don't see that as good news. They could have released it with the 3G, but 09? Christmas is almost half a year after the 3G release! But to wait even longer?? I want to hear Thanksgiving, or sooner.

I don't think its possible. Think about the release of the 16 gig in relation to the 8 gig.

they're bound to drop the 8 gig soon than later, i think

I can't wait for the release of a 32 GB. I wanted it all along. I'll have to part with my measly 16 GB 3G.

well, if there are no major upgrades to the iPhone coming, the 32gb might be that long out as to be "the next big thing"???

I would assume so. The infrastructure for a faster data network (over 3G) isn't anywhere close to being ready so I don't really see any other huge upgrades besides memory for quite some time.

I agree.

I wonder if the 32gb will drop down to the 16gb price and the 16gb down to the 8gb price. If i save up until MW'09 I'll have right around 300 bucks is what I've calculated, but I still have to make it through several birthdays and christmas time too! Might be a good time to start planning that "iphone yardsale".:tounge:

Unless there's some incentives for current 16GB users to upgrade, I don't really need the 32GB right now. I haven't gotten through all the music and videos I got on my current iPhone right now.

its technology that has been around for quite some time, all thats changed is they've made it half the size so that they can double it up to fit two together!

the ipod touch accomadates 32gb so why cant the iphone??

personally i think that this is well already under consideration! apple have been at the front of the market for quite some time now with there cheeky little portable items playing an array of different things video's mp3's etc

jobs is holdin back and as always, he'll release at the right time! but he'll do that annoying things that makes us all feel like kids when we have to wait for a month for a brand new toy!

32gb iphone is on its way, its inevitable... its just a question of when

They will probably make the 32GB available this September or right around Christmas time like they did last year. I'm leaning towards around Christmas time. If they upgrade the iPhone to 32GB they would have to upgrade the iPod Touch to 64GB. And if they do that they would be upgrading the iPod Touch around September when they're said to release new & improved MacBooks/MBPs. They have upgraded their iPods for the past 3? (i believe) years in September/around September.

I agree it is probably penciled in for sometime in late fall/early winter, however with the issues surrounding the 3g I wouldn't be surprised to see them hold off until spring time. Unless, of course, they get this mess sorted out prior to Christmas time.

I am hoping its in the Fall or sometime before Christmas, I just cant justify giving up my V1 16gig for the V2 with 16 gig, especially when I can sell my V1 for more then it will cost to buy a 3g.

I want the 3g now but I want 32gig!! lol

The 32gig can't get here soon enough, as far as I'm concerned! I'm on an 8gig V1 Iphone. It's damn near maxed out. If I was to bump up to the 16gig, and put all that I would like to put on it, I'd be instantly just about maxed out on that one as well. 32gig? Oh yeah...I'd have a real nice amount of breathing room. It's getting hard holding out for it. Just had to dump all my Pixar shorts off of my Iphone, just to free up some more room. Can't even put on my full length movies that I've bought on Itunes.

My prediction: around fall/September after they update the iPod Touch to 64GB in September or Christmas time.. which is probably one the best times for Apple because they get so much business.

Seems pretty plausible. I do expect them to release another color for the iPhone 3G. Those things would sell like Dark Knight tickets

I love my 80Gb iPod, and I've got an 8Gb iPhone (purely cos the 16Gb was out of stock)

since having ONLY 8Gb, I've been really frugle with what I put on there, and now all the content is just the best stuff I want on there, and it's actually helped me keep the 'quality' of content on my iPhone high because I know I don't have much space...

Now that I'm used to this fact, I've always got about a gig free on my iPhone and I only have exactly what I want to listen to, or watch on there...

It's actually a nice way to work, and it means that I get up every morning and work out what I want to listen to on the bus! :)

32Gb would be perfect cause I am down to 700 MB on my 8 GIG and i refuse to buy a 16GB cause i know down the road a higher capacity will come out. Here's a link to some old news about the red iPhone http://www.intomobile.com/2007/10/13/att-prepping-new-iphone-color-deep-red.html Or just (http://www.intomobile.com/2007/10/13/att-prepping-new-iphone-color-deep-red.html)

Or just google red iPhone and you'll get plenty of sites.

Yeah, I've got only the 4gb 1st gen, and the limited space is really killing me. I haven't bothered with the 3g yet cuz I definitely expect a 32gb. The only thing I run into after that, is why not just wait for the next generation, cuz I expect that to release same time next year that the 3g came out this year.

I guess what I'll have to do is wait to hear what rumors are about when the 32gb does come out. Also, the reason why the iTouch has the 32gb now and the iPhone doesn't is because the phone requires space to be devoted to its antennas, which the Touch doesn't have, so it's got more space available to hold the extra memory.

32 gigs is insulting. i wont consider upgrading hardware for capacity reasons alone unless they reach 80 gigs +. im still having to carry two devices, both being aPple

Yeah, but the new itouch is much thinner...this leads me to believe they can easily fit 32gigs in the iphone!

Yeah, but the new itouch is much thinner...this leads me to believe they can easily fit 32gigs in the iphone!

problem is that from what i've been told and read, the itouch has 2 ssd slots while the iphone only has one...for this reason, the itouch will always have twice the capacity of the iphone.

the current touch does not employ the 32GB chip, it actually uses 2 16GB chips...my question is why can't we get that 64gb ssd that's in the macbook air? shouldn't that enable apple to make a 64GB iphone, and a 128GB itouch?

These are all good guesses. I get the impression that with the iPhone 3G, Apple went the cheap route to make more money for less cost. Apple products have always had a premium for their better quality, engineering and ease of use.

After last week's iPod announcement, I listened to the Macworld Podcast covering the event. iPhone 2.1 firmware was given scant attention at the very end. As important as the 2.1 update was, Apple still didn't release it the same day as the iPod Touch.

I have to question Apple's long term vision with regard to the iPhone. Apple and the iPhone won't convince AT&T to build a better network with greater capacity for more devices. Instead, Apple has looked overseas for potential markets.

The 32 GB upgrade seems like the easiest upgrade for the next iPhone refresh. But, are we getting shafted in the process?

Especially if current 3G owners likely won't be qualified to receive the subsidi discount for the 32gb iPhone when it does come out.
