frankly I think this may have just been a harassment of jailbreaking. I'm not seeing any reports of anything significant in terms of bug fixes, or even consistent success of the minor claimed bug fixes.

I've noticed quite a difference. The phone isn't so "clunky" anymore when using it. The software is much more stable. When I used to send text messages on 2.0, it would hang a lot of the time. With 2.0.1, it's not hung once.

Maybe Apple asked Microsoft for help. Let's face it, Apple haven't really done a very good job stabilizing the iPhones software now have they?

yea but theres like no point of trying to stop the jailbreaking if the dev team always comes out with another update for pwnage

Yeah, when texting I noticed a huge difference. Corrections appear much quicker, and there isn't always some random lag.

I agree. To go through writing new software just to detour people from jailbreaking is completely pointless. They'll (Apple) never win that battle.

I don't think it's made any difference either. I'm still getting the keyboard lag which drives me insane. I really thought that would be one of the bugs it would correct. So if it's not corrected that, just what has it done? I'd be very interested to know.

I can't notice a real difference. I thought things would be faster, no more lag, but things are the same and Safari crashes on me still.

my battery life has gottn worse. Everything else seems to work a little more smooth than it did before. I personally think iTunes needs an update more than the phone. The update process for the app store on iTunes is horrible

I got rid of the keyboard lag and the lag in the phonebook with the update.

I still have lag with everything

My keyboard lag is somewhat better, but it has created a new problem for me. My apps don't sync to itunes when I've purchased them from my phone so I have to re-download them from itunes to get them to show up. Also my email was having issues but I fixed that.

I hope this guy was joking about Apple getting help from Microshaft. That make no sence. That would be like BMW asking KIA how to build a sports car. Microshaft makes the most unstable software on the planet. Imagine if Microshaft made cars. You would buy a new car....drive it a few blocks....then it would just shutoff. You would call for help and they would tell you to disconnect it from the battery and try again. If that dosnt work remove the motor and reinstall it. Then you would have to plug you car in for updates every day to keep people from stealing it. If this happened the goverment would force Microshaft to recall the cars. I guess its a good thing they dont.

I have two iPhones in the home. One has the 2.0 software and the other is using the 2.0.1. Only the iPhone running 2.0.1 sees the error "kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302" when using Safari.

That's a funny thing to say considering the fiasco of the MobileMe release and all the common complaints of apps crashing and failing to start again, sometimes requiring a complete reinstall of the firmware on the iPhone. The car analogy sounds part and parcle what's going on with the new iPhones. Did you get confused? I hope the government doesn't recall all the malfunctioning iPhones.

I like Apple now, I never had any real exposure to any of it's products other than iPods until recently. But OSX is certainly no BMW compared to Windows. It's more like a rickshaw with pretty paint compared to a Bentley. Ok, not really a rickshaw, say a VW Beatle. It works fine, no better than Windows, feature for feature, but it has a whole lot less features.

It seems smother, and less jumpy. The SMS lag hasnt happened.

Everybody that has still had trouble with lag. Have you's tried re-updating? I've heard of a simple re-update and everything works fine.

And yes, I say you's. I'm from Jersey. ;)

Apple has really dropped the ball here! My Treo with Windows mobile was much more stable than my new iPhone. I thought I would never say that when I bought the iPhone...needless to say I am a little disappointed.
