the last one came out the day before yesterday. 2.0.1
go to settings, general then about. look at what version you have. if it's 2.0 then u need to plug your iphone up to itunes

Are you using a holster that has a magnet ?? If so this can cause a problem. I had hte same issue. Once I changed holsters this solved the problem

I'm also having the same problem. When I turn my phone off and back on the sounds work for maybe 5 or 6 messages and then it goes back to just vibrating.

I had the same problem but I haven't noticed it since updating. If this is still happening after that I would (and almost did) be taking a trip to the Apple Store.

That's funny (not really), but the first text I get after posting that reply- no sound. Great.

I have request of anyone having this problem- Which sound do you have associated with receiving a text? I had been using the "Electronic" one, because it's best one if I'd actually like to hear that I'm getting a message in most environments. I changed it to another one and it's been working fine. I have also switched back to the previous one and, again, silence.
