OK I'm bored -
I was reading another thread and someone said that not everyone is close to an Apple Store. It got me to thinking how lucky we are in Denver. There are actually five stores all within driving distance from my home and one is actually in my neighborhood. I would drive to any one of the locations if there was an item I wanted or needed and the store closest to me were out of inventory. Here's the distance from my home to the five stores in Colorado:
1) 1.2 miles
2) 13.6 miles
3) 14.2 miles
4) 21.2 miles
5) 29.9 miles
Anyone else live in an area where the Apple Stores are so concentrated?

There's not one in my state. The closest is in Pittsburgh, PA, a three hour drive.

One of the many reasons I miss CO so much. I was 10 minutes from both TwentyNinth Street and FlatIron Crossing. And under an hour to all the rest...

There is only one Apple store in West Michigan in a mall in Grand Rapids, about 10 minutes away from where I live (in Wyoming). Otherwise, I would have to go all the way to the Detroit area to get to a store. (Apple seems to like the Detroit area... there are like three around Detroit) it's a good three-four hours to get there from GR.

You're the first to report better than my five with the furtherest being 30 miles away. I bet they're pretty heavy in LA as well.

Danbury is 30 miles from me.
Palisades Center is 45 miles from me.
Garden State Plaza is 45 miles from me.
I work <5 miles from the store in The Westchester.
I guess this also technically makes me very close to the Stamford store as well, but I don't know where it is.

I'm in NYC almost every weekend and walk to the fifth avenue store all the time when I need something or need an apple fix. (SoHo store is too far to walk to from where I am)

Wow! 5 Apple Stores close to you? That's pretty amazing. We have one about 5 minutes away and there is another just opened north of here 2 hours away.

Needless to say I have logged hour after hour just playing in the one down the road =P.

I live about 6 blocks from my nearest Apple store in Los Angeles. I usually walk over there to check out their newest products. I finally went yesterday to check out the Apple 3G, although I will wait until next year to buy the next version of the iPhone.

No offense, but these comments really crack me up.

"next year, I'll get the new iPhone"
next year:
"nah, I'll wait until next year"
the year after
"nah, I'll wait until next year"

Why the wait? Other than being locked into a current carrier - if you want the phone, buy it. I'm not sorry I bought the phone on both launch days at all. Now when people are acting all stupid, and figure out the phone, I've already had mine for over a year, and I know how to hack, etc....

Anyway, sorry for the OT. :laugh2:

Ramesh, it's cool. My current contract with Sprint ends at the end of September. I'm not one of those that needs the latest, greatest gadget right away. I'm definitely sold on the iPhone though. I just want to see a few new improvements that the 3G hasn't addressed and then I will bite. :) I'm sure it will be version 3 though for me. I don't see waiting beyond that time frame. It is ONLY 10 more months away :)

I am too close to too many Apple stores! I can't seem to stay away! When I am bored, I find myself inside of an Apple store. This could get dangerous for my bank account. Luckily, I have not been buying stuff. But the store employees already know me. LOL

Yeah you're preaching to the choir here. LOL

I've got several trips coming up over the next couple months so I'm trying to stay away or at the very least walk out empty handed.

Yup, but you know, Apple is successful because going into their stores is a very nice experience. Each time I go into an Apple store, I feel at home. Nobody bothers me, unless I ask and I can play with all the stuff they make and nobody looks weird at me for being in the store for a long time each time.

So, when the GF and I go to the mall, it better be a mall with an Apple store and she knows where to look for me after she is done shopping. :tounge:
