If you can find a new iPhone, yes you can get it today. Why would a contract with Sprint, prevent you from starting one with AT&T??? Mark

Yes, you can port the number. Make sure you are done with Sprint before you start an account with ATT.

I'd check with Sprint. If you're only 9 days away from your contract obligation, it's possible you can move to AT&T now without paying ETF.

Today i called sprint twice and talked to two different people and they both said i can leave my contract now and not get charged an early termination fee because i am in the last month of my contract. But i wanted to make sure of this so i went into the sprint store and they told me i had to wait till the 16th. I also asked a sprint rep. on sprints online chat on there web page if i could do it and they told me i would be charged a ETF. So is there any wa for me to find out what the real answer is???

Conflicting answers would scare me and make me wait it out until the 16th. I don't think you'd be charged the EFT one week away, but it'd be a hard lesson to learn if they choose to. You've waited this long, for safety's sake give it another week. The worst time to get advice is on the weekends and evenings when the part-timers are working. Call 'em on Monday during the day and explain to them you're getting conflicting answers and request to speak to a supervisor. Remember to get their name in case you need it later.

As noted in this forum. Sprint just lost a lawsuit in California concerning charging ETF's. They may just be a little more lenient at the present moment. But who knows, like MileHigh said, you waited this long, what's a few more days. Patience is a virtue...Mark

I believe they charge you for your service 30 days in advance which is why you shouldn't have to wait until the exact date your contract actually expires. You've already paid them the total of the contract term which is why I initially said you can probably switch over now and not have to pay EFT.

well i went to apple and picked my a new iphone yesterday. I was able to confirm and get it in writing that i would not be charged a EFT if i switched within the last month of my contract. Thanks for the help
