so yesterday, while browing at home using a wifi, the wifi died while i reset it.
meanwhile, the phone "locked" on a empty screen, while it indicated it was trying to load the webpage.
but it hung up on there for a few seconds... kinda like a minute or 2.
then, it went blank and a big apple logo appeared. nothing else.
then a 10-20 seconds, it went back to normal...
did it just reboot it itself?
that's one thing i hate about a device where i cant take the battery out for a manual reboot...

This has happened to me with certain apps from the App Store.

you can reboot/turn off/on your phone without removing the battery. just press and the sleep/wake button at the top of the phone until slide to power off shows up. you slide to shut down the phone. once it's off, you press and sleep/wake button again to turn it on. that's a soft reset
you can also perform a hard reset by holding both the sleep/wake button and home button until the phone shuts off and back on where you see the apple logo

Yesterday, I ended out of the ebay app that I was in. I put my phone down & music started playing. I don't know how it did this but my AOL radio app turned on. Whenever I would hit my home button it would take me to my contacts page. Then all of a sudden the screen went blank with a white light. I tried pushing my home button & the sleep button together for a few minutes but it would never give me the option to slide to power off. I finally had to do a system restore. Its ok now but has this happened to anybody else before?
