WTB iPhone (1st gen) 290 [Archive]

Since I deleted my older post I decided to repost. I know it's against rules but If I could have changed the title of the post then I wouldn't have reposted. Well I am basically looking for a 8 gig iPhone. I will take a 4 also but it needs to cost less. I can pay via money order for the amount of 290.00. Phone must have NO scratches whatsoever on the screen, not even if they are barely noticeable. The back can have a few here and there from normal wear. If the iPhone allows people to insert their at&t sim into it without activating then I don't need it unlocked, if that's not the case then yes I prefer unlocked. iPhone must include all accessories that came in the box + the box. No, I am phoneless, lol! I lost my rizr and I have enoyugh to buy a iPhone lol. Yes I was gonna buy off a guy from craigslist but he's ignoring me! :'(
and eBay is too expensive. So this is my only hope.

Eh, I'm sure someone will pull through. Is the 3g within your price budget? I would say go for that instead.

I cant get a 3g! I am on prepaid! And I hate the 3g its tacky and plasticy. I am getting my hopes up everytime I see a new reply:angry:

You're going to have to pay a lot more than $290. I put my 1g on eBay with a buy it now of $350. I should have waited. The auction lasted TWO MINUTES before someone bought it.

I agree 100%. I wish I would not have put the buy it now on for $350. A similar phone went for almost $500. Now that is INSANITY!

Yeah man dont give up, cause I also wanted to have my iPhone before school started back up and would have been reality accept I got the job at McDonalds we later than what it should have been :(

Just keep searching man, Im also looking for an iPhone v1 for $250 or under and have actually found some but their condition wasnt that great if you know what I mean. . . but lucky for I can still look at the iPhone 3G cause of the discount I get working at McD so I have a fair choice of either or now :)

People obviously are still paying it out there for used phones. I sold my 4g last week on ebay for $315 and it had a visible scratch at the top of the screen and scuffed up back. The guy that bought it from me in Florida was very happy to buy it from me. I guess they are a hot item because you can still unlock them.

Well I don't really think the V1 looks much different from the 3g at all. The back is the only diff. Also, consider that:

1. You can't use the internet while making a call and,
2. The Edge network is slow as crap and makes using the iphone for internet almost worthless.

I hope you really like the look of the V1 A LOT to give up #1 and #2 above.

How often will one be on the internet when making a call? And Edge is pretty good in my area. Regardless, I prefer the 3g, just not when it comes to looks.

Anyways this entire thread has been going offtopic.

Yeah Pimpboy has been looking for an iPhone since the beginning of summer. . .So I guess Pimpboy you raise the WTB price alittle to attract more people, cause eventhough its not impossible to find an iPhone for under $300 its also not reality... to think that you would find one that cheap.
-I gurantee that you wont see iPhone v1 prices for that low(Under $300) until around the end of this year

So idk either raise the WTB price, or be prepared to wait for a month or two:foot:

I can't I already owe my parents money. Ok here's the deal. I earned 270 myself. I have been tossed around like a play toy all week on craigslist. I get offers but then they either 1. never call me, 2. ignore me, 3. sold it to someone else,, and 4. I got stood up 2 times. I have been hurt like crazy. I felt like a total dumbas$$ waiting for no one to come at the mall. I would go to 300 but I already owe my parents the 20.00 extra. I would go to 300 but I dont have any more money. Today I was suppost to meet with some guy at altamonte mall here in fla but it turns out his iPhone was upgraded to 2.0 and he cant downgrade to 1.4 and unlock. And to top it off I was so excited last night I couldn't sleep. I have practically given up home on this. No one wants to sell it to me!

And if you didn't notice, I did raise my offer. I was first offering 250 for any iPhone, now its 290. I have been using craigslist since I started my search. I can't handle it anymore. People keeep tossing me allover. And I am with you projectdarkside. I see alot of iPhones under 300 but alot of them are in real bad condition.

Your best bet is to try and find friends or '"aquaintance's" -again my laptop is broken so my firefox spellcheck is not available- to buy an iPhone from

Oh no, I call, lol but I think the lord is answering my prayers. Some guy is offering me his 8 gb for 230!!!!!11 Only probb is that there is a scratch on the top left, but it's hidden under the case, and the phone is not unlocked. Theguy tried downgrading it for me but he said he doesn't know how to downgraqde from 2.0 to 1.4.

True, you can always buy it and downgrade it later. Plenty of people at EIC that can help with that. And if you are cool with the scratch, by all means, go for it! Great price, just make sure you are smart consumer-wise, because it sound a little too cheap.

I am still in thinking modfe of buying it. It's in under fair condition. And it's not unlocked or activated. It has 2.0 which makes it even harder for me to unlock and jalibreak because ziphone was a one click unlocking, only probb, it doesn't suppotrt 2.0 as of yet.

It does sound cheap. But if the guy hasn't chjecked eBay or craigslist then I am ok with it. LOL as long as he can pay off his 3g iphone for what ima give him hes ok with it. Can someon give me a link to a tutorial on unlocking+ activating+ jailbreaking 2.0. I wont use cidia or any of that garbage. All I want is the Bosspref that disables edge.

listen send me an email a mori30@me.com i still have my iphone V1 and if you want i will downgrade it to 1.4, if you want i will post a pic of it, the screen has NO scratches BUT the upper left corner (in the back) has a deep scratch, from when i drop it trying to remove it out of my case.

he comes the problem thou IF you do decide to get it i will sell it to you for the 290 you have BUT i live in NJ so you will have to pay for S&H. let me know what you need or wanna do.

just in case i am willing to trade it in for a macbook, as long as its an intel cpu.

Ummmm, I found an iPhone a week and 6 days ago. So, sorry, and no offense but I upgraded it from 2.0 to 2.1 ALL ON MY OWN and im 15!!! lol! and YES its activated AND Jailbroken. Sooo I wouldn't buy yous because I bought too many applications off the app store just too keep them on my computer with no use. But thanks alot for the offer though.

Oh pjds! Dont worry!! I did it myself!!! it wass sooo easy!!! I used a tutorial and I will search it for you, I haven't tried my iPhone on other sim cards besides at&t's but good thing is they dont ask for activation!! Believe me, its soo easy, it couldn't be any easier. I used winpwnage, (latest version) because it unlocks 2.1 (ONLY on 1st gen iPhones) but yaa I will try to find the tutorial and send it to you in a PM

Oh I wished you had posted this sooner, cause with some "logical" thinking and some luck:wink: . . .I were able to jailbreak and unlock my iPhone v1 on the first night:laugh2:

Of course they're were problems along the way, but I got it down and done :)

That's great to hear pjds! I also bricked mine for a moment but after some patience I got it up and running. NOTE now that u got it jailbroken and unlocked you don't need to put ur fone into DFU mode anymore. It will most likely work in normal recovery mode now.

Like today I finally got that T-mobile plan on my iPhone... and it works flawlessly!! Only bad thing is that at the top left where it shows the carrier its just "T-..." instead of "T-mobile"
-and where it should have an E for edge it just a blue dot :(

omg im on 2.0.1 also! I also am not going to go trough the hassle to redo everytime a new firmware comes out. Hmm Idk what's wrong with that T- thing but I can help you on the blue dot. On cydia there is something that says 3G icon. It changes w.e icon (E for Edge or blue dot) to the 3G one. Just search it up on cydia! And that's cool I will pm u haha do u got text? cuz I already used up all my minutes and am left on text messages.

On my flexpay plan I got 300min/unlimited text/ and the $20 total internet package thing :)
-when I got home and turned wi-fi off to test my connection it worked immediately but I never realized how slow edge is compared to the wi-fi I were used to :wink:

Im about to check cydia now, cause its not bothering me but it would nice to have these things make it look more "complete"
-but it seems like whenever I download a change such as the carrier icon change nothing happens :gasp:
to fix the T-... problem, go to Cydia, and download an app called Make It Mine and enter whatever you want for the name

Try T-Mobile, because I have noticed it wants to throw in a space sometimes on 2.0.1

or just write something else instead of T-Mobile.
