Current I-phone wait - DF orders

Does anyone know roughly what the wait is for a DF order for a 3g Black 8GB phone? I am not sure if I should just try the apple store or just order one for my wife, I got my white 16GB on date of release, but she did not want the new one, now she is interested. LOL

I am going to call AT&t and ask but did not know if you guys knew roughly.

It depends on the location. Big cities, may have to wait longer. I just ordered mine at the ATT store in Gurnee, Illinois and they said for the 8GB the wait is about 8 to 10 days. I ordered a 16GB White and they said about 5 days for white iPhone 3G.

My buddy ordered his July 14th, it shipped July 23rd. He got it July 24th. I ordered mine July 18th. It shipped Saturday the 26th and should arrive today in the store. Both are 8gb black. So I would say about 9 days or so.

simply go to:

www.cingular.com/order_status/order_status

several ways to search. If you have your receipt look in the middle and it will say an order #. The last 5 or 6 digits is what you will want to enter in. The billing or shipping zip code is the zip code of the store you are ordering from, not your own.

You can also search by home/contact #. I put in my personal cell phone #, and the stores zipcode and it also worked for me. Hope that helps.

When did you order the 16GB white? I placed an order in Atlanta this Saturday and I'm hoping it arrives before I go on vacation this Friday. I only went with the white because of the faster turnover but if that has changed what's the point =/

I checked my DFU order this Friday just gone, and there were about 100 people before me waiting for their orders. I can only assume that they ordered the 16GB black, as there were orders dotted in between that had been fulfilled.

I checked this morning (Monday) and about 80 of those orders were fulfilled over the weekend. Seems like things move quickly over the weekend, as they drag during the week.

I hope my phone will be in within the next few days. But I'm not holding my breath!!

talking to the ATT guys over here, this is what i got:
3-4 days for any white iphone
1-2 weeks (mainly 2 weeks) for any black iphone. im sure this varies with location. if you want a guarenteed phone, go for the DF. Want to risk getting it sooner? go to apple.
i have a friend over at the apple store, heres what he recommended on getting the 3g from there:
-check every night to see if they will have stock
-if they SAY they aren't getting stock, call around lunch to see if they got any. the iphone tracker merely states if iphones were shipped and recieved at the end of the day. most of the time phones are recieved around lunch.

I'm in Nor CA and at my local At&t they said white 16g will ship in 2-3 days, and I think he said any black one was about a week...? not sure on that heh

anyways, I ordered the white 16 G, they emailed me the next day that it had been shipped, then called me the next day and said come get it


I didnt care about the color because I hadnt had my old one out of its case since I bought it, which by the way that iskin revo was what I have/had on my old phone and it was excellent. As soon as i recieved my new phone I went straight home and ordered the new revo that is for the 3G

I ordered mine Friday, July 25th. And today, July 28th my credit card has been charged and when I checked the status, it shows as delivered to the ATT store. That was very fast.

I found the following link on another forum. It works for orders at local AT&T stores. You'll need your order number (from the AT&T email.)

If you check it exactly as pasted, you'll see that I (Chuck Stovall) am currently #118 at my local store (Identified by zip 80918.) If you sub in your store zip and put in your order number for the END, then you have to play around to see what order number is 1 in the queue. Hope this helps.

10 days total for my 8GB. Ordered on 7/15, arrived at the store and picked up by me on 7/25.

It seems they are slowing down a bit on the DF. I could see a steady 20-25ish phones sent to my store daily, but for the last 2-3 days it has been down to 5-10 phones. Getting in line is starting to look good.
