All Apple Stores Opening At 8:00am now

Not in Atlanta. This is new to most stores. I meant if it was old "news" about the announcement.

I remember they did this last year too when I got v1 and it makes sense, I'm surprised they didn't do this sooner this time around.

doesnt this just mean the stores will sold out the phones a lot earlier than usual. doesnt make a difference to me? or am i missing something..

I think they hope to get some of the iphone buyer traffic down during regular store hours.

Mine opened at 8am. Even getting there at 7:30 I still had to wait 3 hours in line to get my 16g. Good thing I wanted a white one too!

It's like iDay 2 Groundhog Day! :laugh2:

BTW, the whites are usually the only 16 GB versions left. I'm one of those who HAD to take white if I wanted it on the first day.

It had a lot to do with business class customers wanting to buy an iPhone at Apple stores. It sux when you get off of work at 5pm, go to the store to get a phone, and there are none.

Apple made it convenient for these users to get to Apple early and have a chance to get one before work.

This, according to employees at my local Apple store.
