It says it'll connect you to aim/msn/yahoo etc, but i'll be damned if i can figure out how to make it work, lol

You have to edit then add services I believe it is the middle icon at top for services. Got it working with MSN it supports several different clients

All we need now is the ability for it to run in the background all the time no matter what, or do some sort of notification thing! I know it says that it runs in the background, but if you open another app it closes it out, Its getting there though!

I see that aim 1.1 already dropped this morning also. It seems very stable and doesn't crash anymore. Seems to keep me signed I'm when I load safari too.

this app is ok. there's still A LOT of stuff missing from it like emoticons, the ability to check your contacts info (they change their display names so I can't look and see what the email address is so I don't know who it is) , also it logs you out when you exit the app which sucks cause you can't surf the web and come back and read any missesd IMs.

on the other hand, I do like the ability to send pictures, which is pretty cool. and it's the only app for msn and yahoo so it will have to do for now.

This app is OK at best. Wait till a program called MobileChat is released. It is going to blow any IM app out of the water. The guys over at twenty08.com have perfected an IM app. Should be out this week according to their blog. www.twenty08.com

well, I'm still waiting for jivetalk to be released. it's the best app I've seen so far, and I love it on my blackberry.

but hey, I'm not that picky and I just want a really good msn app. and hopefully this app is as good as you say it is..

My thread was about 3 hours earlier than yours: http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-app-store/palringo-instant-messenger-33079.html :laugh2:

But, no one's really keeping track... :tounge:

BTW, I figured out the registration and works great so far. Now, if someone could just IM me.

Well I have it setup on my phone right now, but I'm not too impressed. Can't play music while using it, logs out if you close it (I know it says it keeps you logged in, but it keeps relogging everytime I open it).

So whatever, hopefully we can get a solid MSN solution soon. Whatever part apple is playing in this with app limitations (only one open at a time) need to be fixed, or a workaround found.

Actually, I knew this app was going to be written before the iPhone was even invented, before existence was invented, in fact. Just saying.

Apparently, if you enter another app it will not run in the background anymore.
