iphone v1 wont restore

I was trying to pwn my iphone and got to the part where you put it in DFU mode, but now when i try to restore it with the custom firmware, it says it could not be restored and says error 1601. What do i do now?

try to restore in itunes again, then use the new winpawn 2.0.0.3

the problem was that i couldnt restore to ANY firmware. it always gave me the same error. and i was using the new version of winpwn but it still wasnt working. after about 15 tries i finally got it to restore at least to the stock firmware, and i am going to try to jailbreak it again a a couple days. i just dont have time right now.

after it fails.. I get a apple logo with the spinning circle of death at the bottom...

I had that same problem. I think the firmware that you are using is probably not right. A friend of mine sent me a different firmware and it worked fine. If you want PM me, I can give you a link for custom firmware that worked for me. And I can tell you how to install it without using winpwn.

Download the NEW Winpwn 2.0.0.4 & Iphone Firmware iphone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore
Run Winpwn Browse to the iphone firmware above
Click on IPSW builder and check only Cyndia and installer (if you are a AT&T customer) leave everything else un-check then ok
after the Custom Firmware was create, then click on iPwner and Ok
(the Itune will turn off by itself at this time)
take your iphone out of the dock, wait couple second and plug it back in, you will heard 2 sound after the itune load up
After the second sound, hold the Home and the Sleep buttons at the same time (when the iphone screen got BLACK and at this time it will disconnect from the Itune)
Release the Sleep button and keep on holding the Home button for a little more, then you Iphone will connect back to the Itune in DFU mode (the iphone screen still black) hold down the shift key and click on the restore button on the Itune and choose your Custom firmware that you just create and restore it
It take about 10 minutes or so
