there aren't many apps right now, but you're not going to lose any functionality either... so i say go for it.

if are a good learner and are good a researching different functions of the iphone. It is a big plus. Like mentioned there aren't that many apps but new ones seem to be popping up almost every day and supposedly in about a week installer will be available. But there are alot of things you can do to set yourself apart from everyone else with cydia. Using OpenSSH will help and there are alot of youtube videos on it and what part does what.
I currently have changed my icons, sounds, dock, dialer, 3g icons, changed my carrier name to my name, my charging logos, and sliders. and find new stuff everyday. And I am a total noob when it comes to the iphone but thanks to this site and just researching I have figured out alot. So do it. And if you need help jailbreaking just let me know I will be glad to help you

Apple will most likely release a new firmware update very soon so the DevTeam will have to work on another jailbreak (won't probably require too much work). This plus the fact there is virtually no app available makes it very easy for me to make a decision of NOT jailbreaking yet.

Apple has historically gone months between iphone updates... no reason to think that's going to change. And if there is an update it won't be for the sole purpose of making the dev team re-crack the software.

iPwning takes MAYBE 10 minutes, so again i say there's no reason not to do it.

You can tether your laptop to 3g with 3proxy. Nes emulator, terminal, bossprefs, unlock all monkeyball levels with openssh, html bookreader, and bosstool.

I like it so far. Openssh and the tethering are great.

I have many themes and wallpapers that I can change now in a matter of seconds. I would loose the ability to do that if I upgraded and jailbroke now. I don't need Installer, but I do need SummerBoard. I'll wait.

Well I've seemed to noticed a pattern of early adopters having stability issues down the road when it comes to jailbreaking. I'm just gonna play it safe this time and wait until the first update. Based on the widespread bug reports, I have hopes that Apple might break their months-between-updates shtick this time.
