Everytime I manually close iTunes I get the error pop up message saying "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"...

Anyone else have this issue? It's crazy because I can sync and back up without the freezes everyone else is complaining about. No issues other than when I exit the program manually it tells me it has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any ideas how to correct this?

Am I really the only one with this issue?

I would uninstall itunes, reboot computer, and reinstall itunes again.

Do I need to keep a copy of the library.itl and .xml files to ensure my backups are there when I reinstall?

Sorry, I had to leave. Uninstalling itunes will not effect any of your info. I have had to do it before. It is separate from your library.

Awesome - Thanks! That's what I was thinking; I know I've done it several times as well without any ill effect but I've read something about those library files.

Thanks again dturner... I finally got around to uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes and that fixed it. I wasn't really worried about it so much because everything was running normally; it was just really frustrating to get the message saying iTunes had to close when I was the one that initiated the close in the first place.

Glad it worked!!! Sometimes programs just go buggy for no reason.

OK so the same issue has already reared it's ugly head. I was in and out of iTunes last night and a few times today and had no problems when I shut it down. I just exited iTunes and got the "iTunes has encountered a problem..." message. I guess I'll have to wait for the next iTunes update and not let it bug me too much as everything "seems" to be operating normally.

Fingers crossed... downloading iTunes update now; hoping that is going to fix my ill program.

Waited a few days to test the iTunes update and YES, it cured my previous issue!!!
