It has been a week or so since iDay 2. I am well aware of all the battery issues, but I was wondering if it has seemed to get better? There have been plenty of folks who "think" that it will improve after a few cycles though.

Has anyone seen any improvements? I am still on the fence about getting 3g. Any info would be great.

yeah i think mine has improved. its really not that big of a deal, al long as you have car charger. i know it recharges alot faster than old iphone. 15 minutes in the car and that can make a difference from being dead to being able to do alot of stuff again.

I, too, have noticed how quickly it seems to recharge. I was below 20% yesterday, but hadn't gotten the 10% warning yet. I came in and connected to my pc while I imported a couple of CDs to iTunes. I was shocked how much recharge I got in such a short time.

The battery seems to go down quickly, but after I looked at about:usage, I've used it for 3 hours and 23 minutes and I have about 20 percent remaining. That's about right for 5 hours of usage on a battery, so I guess we're just expecting more.

The Battery life does go by quickly however, i think the usage we are putting into these phones warrant this. I try me best to keep it on the charger in the car or at home. Do any of you wait until the charge is almost low before recharging or just whenever you want to charge it up. trying to get ideas here.

Whenever I have a charger near by (Home and car) I plug it in. I have yet to see the 10% warning with my new phone. the times I see my battery get to 50% I go into settings and turn off stuff I may not be using like location service/3G/Wifi.

It all depends how much stuff you got working on the phone. If you are not browsing the internet turn off 3G/wifi. If you don't use bluetooth turn it off. I f you are not using GPS turn off location services. These things are easy enough to turn back on when you need them. This is what I do and I seem to have around 50% battery remaining after a good 5 hrs of use and 13 hours standby

I've been running mine super low as well to condition the battery. Today, Im at 5:45 usage and 21:43 standby, and JUST hit the 20% warning. Im satisfied with this.

I honestly have had a great experience with my battery this past weekend. I have not charged since Friday night/Saturday AM. I see usage around 3.5 hours, with 3G on. I am just under half battery life as of this morning. I can not complain. My old Razor would be half energy by now with NO use just sitting there.

For me, the battery will most likely NOT be an issue. It seemed really weak the first week, but perhaps I am just used to it now, or perhaps it is retaining its charge better after a few full uses (I tend to let it run completely out before charging). Plus, spending the money for a car charger is worth it....and it charges FAST.

I was out all day yesterday with my phone for the first real time at about 10 am. I drove with my parents for about 2 hours while chatting on AIM over EDGE (no 3G area) and watched 2 episodes of TV, surfed Facebook, some iPod action and some GPS with misc. activity in there (WiFi at home) without charging once. wasn't even dead before going to bed.

3G on the entire time w/o any issues, sorry for those that are on their phone 24/7 but for normal people, I don't see any battery problems whatsoever.

Battery life improved after a couple of charges. Not a bad tradeoff is that it charges very fast; in the car or ac or usb.

I get relatively good battery life. It's definitely better than the other 3G phones I have owned and so far it hasn't proven to be an issue.

Battery life seems to be improving for me. Perhaps it's the numerous cycles of completely discharging before charging up that it has finally gotten accustomed to what it's life cycle is supposed to be. I, too, concur that the charge time to gain full battery strength is greatly shortened on the new 3G.

I tend to let it run completely out before charging

I wouldn't do that as standard operating procedure. It's a good thing to drain out and fully charge once every month or so just to sync the battery indicator with reality, but the iPhone battery actually prefers to be charged more often, in between cycles. From what I've read, it will actually last longer if you do it this way.

So if you got a plug nearby and ain't using your phone, by all means plug in.
