To me, nothing. I have no interest in jailbreaking, and will be sticking with stock.
Right now, there are just a few advantages.
1) Video Recording
2) Tethering
3) Customization
Those are the big reasons for jailbreaking. Other than that, just about every app in Installer has either been brought to the AppStore, or has an application very similar to it in the AppStore. Also, some jailbreak apps - Sketches, for instance - are in the AppStore with many more features. Now of course, all of those who support jailbrekaing will come and tell me that all of my points are bogus. :)

well...I've jailbroken my 3g and its not even worth doing until more apps are supporting it with an upgrade to allow them to work on 2.0.

I would fancy Orb right now, especially since I now have 3G speeds.

I agree 100%. My biggie is customization. Other than that AppStore for me.

I miss:
1. Converter - no quality free converter in App Store yet
2. Dashbuster - manage Blockbuster queue
3. Search - nothing in App Store will let me search my calendar (Google does not do this)
However, ALL of these should arrive sometime thru the App Store...

"Jailbreaking" your phone allows you to download 3rd party applications to your phone that Apple hasn't "approved" of. It also allows you to "customize" your phone, i.e. background images, etc. Sometimes these applications may be useful. For instance, there was one for the iPhone V1 that allowed you to send MMS messages and another app that allowed you to record video. Per the authors of the jailbreaking software, you will be able to download BOTH from the Apple app store AND the other 3rd party applications.

Iphone1027, thank you!!
I thought I would get yell at by asking this question, because after I post this I found other people in other thread asking the same question... but thank you!
Another question, once you jailbreak, Will I still be able to get same support from apple store? (like something went wrong even not necessary the jailbreak app, but phone itself, apple store will fix for you or worse, replace with new phone?)

No. If Apple detects that your iPhone is or has been jailbroken r modified in any way, they will turn you away and not offer any support.

No problem. Exactly. Something else to mention. Right now the software to jailbreak only works on MAC OS, not windows.

Well that just sucks.....I've been waiting for the 2.0 jailbreak version so I can finally redo the themes. Apple's theme is ok, but boring.
nobopyon, no need to worry, as long as you're phone is not unlock, Apple said they won't cripple your iphone. If it's unlock then Apple's next firmware will cripple it, but that's what I've read on the net, but I forgot where I saw it. So don't hold me to it, it's just something I saw and read. It kinda made me not so nervous anymore about using jailbreak when it's avalible.
MobileChat, which is the best AIM client there is on the market. The new one is close to being dropped in the App Store and that is going to make a lot of people happy. The app could get rid of text messaging, and that is not a joke.
