What you have to do is go to:
1. DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4955.20080710.bgt53/iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw and download the new build, plug up your iPhone. The new firmware is 225MB in size But everyone so far has had this build clea up all problems with the phone....
2. SAVE TO YOUR HARDDRIVE
Do NOT click open, you have to save so click "Save" and put it somewhere easy to get to. IE: DESKTOP or DOWNLOADS folders
4. PLUG THE PHONE IN
Simple enough
5. UPDATE THE PHONE. When you get ready to click UPDATE click SHIFT (PC) or OPTION (MAC) and find that file. You will be updated to the newest build. This wont erase anything, like click restore will.
NOTE: While many users in MacRumors and many more reported, have been successful in upgrading to this firmware, you will still need to proceed with caution, you’ve been warned! Dont hold me to fault!
