Since my Itune is in Japanese version, so I'm not exactly sure how it translate in english...

I think you have to go to Edit > Properties? (the very bottom one) > share > check the box says share (or sharing) and share the library>very bottom there is passcode that you need to enter that shows up in your iphone.

I hope this helps

Okay.

1) Open iTunes on your Mac or PC. You don't have to do anything to it.
2) Make sure that your computer and your iPhone / iPod touch are on the same network.
3) Launch Remote, and tap "Add Library". A passcode will appear on the iPhone/iPod's screen.
4) Your device will appear in iTunes, and four boxes will show up, as seen above. Enter the code, and your computer and your device will be paired.

Are you sure the iPhone and PC are on the same network? If the PC is using your home internet connection and the iPhone is using EDGE or 3G, then it won't go through. Also, try doing it without the iPhone connected to the PC via USB.

it is connected through the usb as if i was synching it and it shows me as connected through wireless next to the signal strength...

I'm afraid I can't help you anymore. My bet is that there's something PC related that's blocking your way, and am not the guy to ask when it comes to PCs. I've asked Dave to look at the thread, so hopefully he'll have some ideas.

EDIT: Could it be a firewall blocking the connection?

I could be wrong here, but try preferences, advanced, "look for iphone and ipod touch remotes"

That sounds like it, right?

That works for the iPhone, too, btw. And some microwaves. Troubleshooting step #1

i know this is late, but i found that if your phone is plugged into your computers usb it doesn't like it. my remote was already set up and then all of a sudden it wasn't working anymore. frustrated me for about an hour before i looked at the cable and immediately realized what i was doing wrong. i'm sure that i'm the only dumbo that did that being that there's no reason to use it as a remote when it's plugged into your computer, but i love the app so much that i prefer to use it even when i don't have to.

Good thread, jut managd to get mine working (same issue)

On the latest version on iTunes its under Edit > Preferences > Devices.

Then iTunes will see you iPhone in the devices list, then 'pop', up comes the screen.

I have been through this exact problem and rest assured this is how you correct it . Go to your services and enable and start the Bonjour service and then restart iTunes . Everything they tell you to do will actually work now .

peace
