Data recovery for Macbook

Hey guys...

My boss's hard drive died in his Macbook... it's under warranty, but he is interested in data recovery. The hard drive is just not spinning up.

Do any of you guys have any experience with mac data recovery services? Preferably something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I recommend Data Rescue (http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php) - I've used it on a completely dead PPC Mac and gotten everything back.

if the hard drive isn't functioning mechanically, then software isn't gonna help. All i really know about is our service from work which can cost anywhere between $200-$4000.

If your HDD in under warranty then you should prefer replacement. his hard disk is not spinning, so no mere software package can recover data from it. Only a service that can remove the platters manually will be able to retrieve anything.
