I prefer Firefox because I am a plug-in junkie.

I really like Firefox. I just downloaded Safari for the PC, literally... not even 5 minutes ago, using it right now. So far the only reason I've found to like Firefox more is the fact that it remembers usernames/passwords. But I really like the overall look of Safari, pretty sure I'm sticking to it.

Internet Explorer, of course!
Kidding.
Safari, but only because I'm using OS X. If you're using a PC, you should most definitely use Firefox, but for me, Safari is the only way.
I have no need for a ton of plugins. Using Safari, I have two plugins installed; Safari AdBlock, and ad blocker, and Inquisitor, and spotlight-like add-on for Google searching form the toolbar. Other than that, Safari includes everything I need in a browser. It's simple, has a nice, clean UI, and is very easy to use.

Firefox - even on a Mac - faster and nicer UI, for my taste ...

I agree with John. Since I'm using windows I love firefox but I'm sure Safari is great on mac. (I know safari is on windows too but I heard it sucks).
I love FF3 because the password management is amazing (can delete individual passwords from each site), the magic address bar, and of course all the modifications

I'm a new Mac and iMac user, only about a month now. I think I prefer Safari, but the one thing I wish it had was the "new tab" button on the menu bar. Yeah, I know I can do the Command T thing, but I'm such a mouse person.

Safari on the Mac for sure. I gave FireFox on Mac a try and just didn't like it. On the PC though it is definitely FireFox.

me neither. the only benefits i see for using Safari is for easy access to creating webclips, and the integration with other apple software/hardware (iphone, mobileMe, etc).

Congrats man! Complications are keeping me from my phone.
As to your dream about the macbook, i think i can top that:
-i had a dream where I was waiting in line for a 16gig iPhone 3g. About 3 hours of just WAITING. And when I finally opened it, it was a flip phone. What a stupid dream.
btw- Firefox FTW. Just better at everything.

Yea, it really sucked.
The top part of the phone broke off when i opened it. I only realized it wasn't an iPhone when i woke up too.
ugh. Have you already placed your order?

No not yet, because my Att store needs the payment up-front or w/e so that when they order it all they have to do is call me to pick it up :)

Wow John, you just took me back a million light years. I think Netscape was just phased out not to long ago. Netscape was the pioneer for todays web browsers, so it is do it's respect. That being said, everything out grows it's usefulness and is laid to rest.
Netscape did a lot of joint research with the Mozilla foundation. I love Firefox for Mac, just because I was so used to using it with Windows. The first thing I would do with my previous Windows machine purchases was dump I.E. and download Mozilla...Mark
P.S. I wish there was a version of Firefox for the iPhone. It would be a great replacement for the constantly crashing Safari browser on iPhone...M

What? No Opera?
You know that everything Firefox claims to have revolutionized Opera perfected 5 years before, right? And it all comes out of the box, no plugins necessary, and it's got a much much MUCH smaller footprint.
So my answer is neither.
EDIT:
Oh! And Opera is faster too.

What does the time have to do with posting the facts?Im not a nerd that goes around randomly googling the history and facts of safari, firefox, or netscape. When I posted my comment noone had mentioned or posted yet the facts of these browsers
sooo..."get your facts straight"
Overall, Firefox is better, in my opinion (features, addons, ease of backing up and restoring profiles, using multiple versions on the same computer), but I love Safari's faster javascript. I know that comes from webkit, and I'd use another webkit-powered browser if I could find one... until then, Safari is the fast path to any javascript-heavy site I use. (One of them is my game, which has a part of the game that relies quite a bit on how fast your browser's javascript engine can open and close an XmlHttpRequest connection)

I use Safari on my windows laptop, and when I get my first mac (in a few months hopefully :) ) I will still use Safari. I have tried firefox, it is nice, definitely prefer it over internet explorer, but I think Safari has a perfect UI. It is nice, clean, and simple. On top of that, it remembers all of my usernames and passwords (except for myspace, but I think myspace has disabled the password remember-er [is that a word?] due to all the account hacking) so I have no clue why some people think that Safari doesn't remember your passwords. I can even delete them for certain websites if I choose to.
Then again, I am pretty much an Apple fan boy anyways =]

While I currently still prefer Safari (and will even more when Safari 4 comes out, for it contains the ability to turn webpages into native apps) but I'm going to say that Google's Chrome (http://www.tuaw.com/2008/09/01/google-creating-its-own-browser-based-on-webkit/) is going to turn into my default browser. :2cool:

firefox is faster, more efficient, and more fully-featured on the Windows platform. Plus I'm addicted to full page zooming.
I'm really annoyed iRovr went Safari-only... I have to keep Safari on the desktop just for that now.
