Not yet lol. Ive been treating it like a baby to avoid dents and scratches.
I ordered the invisibleshield from zagg and until it arrives, I still have that original wrapping plastic on the front and back of the iPhone to protect it from scratches...except I gave the front part cutouts for the home button and earpiece. Call me crazy

my wife dropped hers getting out of the car she say's it fell out of her pocket but I know she wasn't paying attention. She knicked the back a little. So being the nice guy I am I went to Att and picked up a silicon case for two reasons : 1. Keep her from hurting the iphone as much as it can be helped. 2. to distinguish hers from mine. I got the black 16 gig and she got the 8 also in black. Now she has a bright neon pink one. While mine has been in a black very very tight snug black leather case and holster since day one.

I dropped my V1 several times but it kept right on working. Not even very much cosmetic damage. I'm trying real hard not to drop the new one. Don't know how the plastic will hold up.

I'm like the world's worst with stuff like that. I think I dropped my 2G version twice in the 2 months I used it. I have one of those super skins on my 3G, so hopefully even if (when) I do drop it, it won't be too bad. I left my MacBook out in the ran over the 4th.

what super skins?? I'm curious to know! I used "Clear Armor", but I think there are different brands that are basically the same: http://www.case-mate.com/phones/apple3G/clear-armor-iphone_2

I had a spare from the 2G version which "mostly" fits. I put it on the day I got the 3G.

I thought you were going to say you had a dream you ate a vibrating croissant, and when you woke up, your iPhone was gone.

To post an image onto a web forum, you will need to first "Upload" your image onto the web.

This can be done with a variety of sites, however my personal favorite for speed and efficiently is the site http://upbrite.com.

visit http://upbrite.com, and on the page you come to, you can click on "browse" button. You will be able to search for your image. Once its found you can click on "Upload".

Depending on the size of your image, it shouldn't take too long before you come to a page with 3 sets of code.

On the box marked "forum" you will need to copy all the code in the box. That code can be posted in your thread and the image will then be displayed.

I hope this guide has helped. Because I was new to this forum I wanted to share the knowledge that helped me. Now you too know how to post an image.

Hope this helps!!

I have a similar situation. I have dropped my V1 multiple times on surfaces from wood to concrete, and it still works perfectly. I have no scratches on the screen, and only a few scratches on the bezel and back. Good quality :).

So, I've yet to drop my 3G. Hooray!

The day I got my first gen iPhone we had a blizzard in Denver and as I was exiting my truck I lost my footing and slipped on pavement that had been shoveled and gotten iced over. Fortunately, I was holding my newest prized possession tightly in my hand with the front of the iPhone gripped tightly in the palm of my hand to protect the screen from the moisture but the back of the phone was completely exposed to mother nature. Naturally I tried to break my fall by using my hand (holding the iPhone). It took a good beating as the upper corner opposite the camera lens hit the pavement. Actually there were only a couple of small gouges in that corner but disheartening none the less. I couldn't wait until the storm passed to rush out and get some protection. I chose the iSkinz cover and screen protection film which served me well for the duration of my 1st gen iPhone's lifespan.

After waiting in line on 3G iDay for almost 5 hours, I immediately purchased new film protector and applied in the Apple store before heading out to the parking garage. They advised me my old iSkinz would not fit my new 3G phone because of the contour of the new phone. While sitting in my truck I thought why not try it to avoid nasty gouges on my now, newest prized possession. It fit like a glove and hasn't been removed as of yet.

Although I truly love the look of the naked iPhone, I'm a bit concerned about the new plastic back. I believe if it were to endure the punishment my first gen took it would crack and possibly shatter to pieces.

Not yet, but my v1 look like it had been to Hell and back. It looked like a hail storm hit it. I never broke the glass, but have a feeling the 3g will since it's slightly raised.

Yeah I treat this thing like I'm holding gold. I keep it in a skin and sometimes an skin inside a case. I'm very anal about my cell phones.

I HAVE DROPPED MINE and it doesn't hold up as well as the v1. The first time it hit the corner and really banged up the plastic. AND... NOW I have dropped it again and guess what. THE GLASS BROKE. oh man its ugly and what I would really like to hear is I can get it replaced.............................anyone....... ........................huh......anyone........... ......
I think i'll go have a good cry.

totally shattered. . . . . . . gave my v1 to my daughter..... . . . . . . . . .my bf says all he could find on line was it is going to cost me $250.00 to have it replaced through apple OR there is some shmuck who gives a tutorial on how to replace it yourself with plastic sheeting and how "no one will notice in passing."

I dropped mine today :(

Actually, I didnt. A family member walked by me when I had my phone in my hand, and hit it with their arm causing it to go flying on the floor.

Luckily it didnt have a scratch, dent, nada. And I was really expecting a cracked screen by the way it fell.

What really makes me angry is that they wont apologize and they say its my fault because I should hold on tighter to it, and because I use it too much.

What the F man! Ugh.
When they werent looking I got there V1 and hit it hard on a piece of furniture :2cool:

That made me feel a little better, but im still angry.

Even though theres nothing wrong with my phone, I cant live with the fact that it fell like that. Tomorrow I'm gonna call Apple and get a replacement...without telling them it was dropped or anything

Monkey Ball makes me want to throw mine. I gave up damaging my own stuff over frustration a long time ago, though. I'm not opposed to damaging other people's stuff, though. Want to come over? Bring your iPhone.
