I'm still having a few quirky things with my new 3G, but none of them are major issues and I know that they'll be resolved. I'm happy with my decision.

Even though I am disappointed with the "superior" yellow screen I would still go for the 3G again.

3g! I used to dread being in safari and having to launch another application because it took so damn long to reload web pages. With the speed of 3g now, I don't even blink.
In the long run 3g itself may actually use less battery than edge. You may be able to compare actual data transmission time between the two technologies. Say a page takes 30 seconds on edge and 15 seconds on 3g? Since 3g is loading for 15 fewer seconds, it may take less power overall to load the same page even though 3g itself uses a little more power than edge.
I'd like to hear any electrical engineers' opinion on this.

But one would be likely to surf twice as much, thus, negating the savings. ;)

If my V1 was not stolen I would not have purchased 3G. Im having more fun with 2.0, Mobile Me and apps more than Im enjoying the battery hungry 3G

i wonder what the percentage is of people that originally decided to not get the 3g that have since changed their minds. I'm betting it's small.
