Hey guys
So I know that when you access the internet, the time of the data transfer goes on the bill. Me and my family are going to stay at a hotel for a little bit that has WiFi setup. My question is, does the wifi access show up on the bill? Like what time you were on? Thanks

If the WiFi is offered free from the hotel then it will NOT show up on your bill. Actually, even if you have to pay for the WiFi access you will most likely need to pay via credit card so it won't show up on your bill regardless.

No, an open wifi connection is free and not recorded on bill.
Now, some hotels have costs to use their wifi connections - so double check that.

Just be sure to heed this advice. I would think if there was a charge, you couldn't assess before paying anyway. But it never hurts to be sure.

When you go to setting>wifi> and then you choose a network, do you automatically use that and NOT the AT&T one? So if you go to the web you will not be using the AT&T internet and just wifi? Then once you deactivate wifi the at&t internet picks it up? Is that all correct?

If you watch porn on your iphone while on hotel wifi, it will show up on your bill as XXX material.

Actually, they just give you a second bill with the following in fine print: "We know what you were doing over our free wifi and we will let your wife know too unless you pay this second bill, you freak!"

Nothing viewed or accessed over wifi will show up on your parents' at&t bill. Don't sweat it. MySpace and FAcebook all you want.

Nor will it show up on any WiFi bill that your parent will receive.
Having said that, a log *is* probably kept at the hotel's service provider's firewall/proxy server. However, it usually takes a court order to release those to third parties (your parents or even the hotel, for example).
Don't sweat it Lauren, enjoy the iPhone!
By the way everyone, "xxcypherxx" is female, so all your porn remarks were probably for nothing.
