Mail.app does not work! Opens and closes right away

This is happening to both my and my friend's phone. I push the icon, it opens, and closes after a second. My phone is (obviously) not jailbroken. It's almost like it has a permissions problem, for those who know SSH lingo. I even tried restoring the phone and it still doesn't work. Without jailbreaking, I don't know how to fix this!

This happened to me when I installed the leaked version of the 2.0 firmware on my v1 phone but as soon as I restored it was fixed. Try restoring again and see if it gets fixed.

The same thing happens to me, and i am sure there will be others too.

My iphone is 3g. No jail broke.

this problem happened earlier but when i upgraded it to OS 3, it started working.

Today it happened again, i deleted the mail account, added it again and the same problem again.

Have not tried restore.

It looks like it must be due to a virus in the email or some javascript in the email, that iphone reads and somehow gets corrupted and closes itself.

Please help if anybody has figured out how to fix this!

I've had this happen before. A couple of force quits, and a hard reboot fixed it for me.
