it seems pretty sturdy against scratches for me, im sure blemishes will show but not anymore than the old phone.

No scratches yet, but it's barely left my hand!

If I've got to keep this thing in working order for two years, I'm going to be especially careful with handling. I got a pouch that clips onto my belt. I keep it in there as much as I can. I have a Griffen case on order, but it has been backordered, and may arrive when iPhone 4G arrives. :tounge:

I've had my phone for under 24hrs but so far so good. The back is a fingerprint magnet but did not go through the scratch faze if there is any.

i found that a strip of clear scotchguard packing tape works well on the back of the phone and its clear enough not to interfere with the clarity of the camera.

One person who has officially reviewed his iPhone (http://www.everythingicafe.com/apple-iphone/iphone/iphone-3g-20080711549/) says that the back of his iPhone already is showing "some hairline scratches". :gasp:

The one mounted as a sample (black) at at&t store I looked at yesterday had some scratches and fingerprints on the back and they had just brought it out in the morning. I went in the afternoon to look at it. I think I would get white, may show less.
