Anyone else having problems getting it to authorize with your employer? I got all of my info from my exchange information from my outlook account, but still doesn't work!

You need to point it to your Outlook Web Access server. If you can log in to your Exchange via the web, use that server/login info on your iPhone.

The server for my work email is https://owa.mywork.com

what I put in my iphone was owa.mywork.com and turned SSL off.

Worked first time.

I have the info. I wonder if I'm putting wrong information under username and domain. I assumed it was my info before the @ in my email.

I have the info. I wonder if I'm putting wrong information under username and domain. I assumed it was my info before the @ in my email.

It is crucial to get this part right - syntax needs to be correct. Either of these should work:

username.domain-name

domain-name\username

** Note that it is a *backslash* that is needed in the second option - a forward slash will NOT work

** No hyphen in your domain name of course - I just put that there to hopefully make that more easily readable. So if your username (that you login to your work network / Exchange with) is jsmith and your domain name is BigCompany (should not need to be fully qualified with .com etc - should just be as you see it in your Windows network login dialog), your entry in iPhone Exchange setup should be as follows:

jsmith@bigcompany

bigcompany\jsmith

Hope that helps ...

Not necessarily. My work email is my first and last name@uhhospitals.org but I have a login id that I must use to access the email.

Since the iphone does not have a field for domain you have to put it with the username.

like domain\username. You should see a grayed out example in the username field before you start typing.

Your Microsoft Exchange administrator must have that option enabled at the server level. If they don't you ain't gonna get any push email.

Having said that, have you (or any other employee) received push email with other devices?

Yes, I had a blackberry until last year when I got v.1.

That's a little different. I'll re-ask. Does anyone get push mail using a windows mobile device? That uses activesync, which is the same concept here. Permissions DO need to be set as well...

I don't think that's the same as Microsoft Exchange push email. RIM (the makers of Blackberry) have their own proprietary technology to push email to their devices. They use one of their separate servers (to which Exchange communicates), and that server is what delivers your email to the devices. In fact (I'm not sure if this is still true or not), but all mail used to go through Canada (RIM's HQ) on it's way to your device.

Using Exchange, an email is sent to you from someone and when the Exchange server (located in your company's data center) receives it, it immediately turns around and forwards it to all your clients (e.g. devices, desktop).

That, I don't know, but I DO know that you can sync all item from MM and Exchange, and they co-exist. I've done this for my phone and it works great.

I just found out that the pictures do sync from Exchange, but my employee was using Outlook. Maybe this is a problem with Entourage? I use Entourage for work/home, since I use a Mac exclusively, so it would be nice to have my Exchange stuff come over completely.
