Before any of you guys spend any your hard cash on protecting your iPhone's gorgeous screen from scratches and fingerprints, check this video at PC World. What they subject their iPhone to is borderline criminal, but the iPhone comes out a fully functional winner even after being dropped 3 or 4 times on hard concrete from head high, and its screen being subjected to direct intentional key attack! see it here:

Whatever the screen is made of, they sure did an incredible job on this baby... having learn their lesson from the iPod no doubt.
While I have not yet bought my iPhone, I do plan to leave the screen as is, but will be using the InvisibleShield to protect the rest of the body, especially the metal edge which in the test came out scratched.
Just my 2 cents.

I know it was wjp, I post it myself in another thread related to screen protection, but I thought I'd make it more obvious by making its own thread so that I wouldn't have to mention it ever again in anywhere in this forum.
I was so impressed by it myself, I felt it would be appreciated by others here who were figuring out their "protection" budget and strategy.
Cheers.

Right here Flyer:

Invisible Shield is a completely transparent/clear film you apply to your precious electronics, computers and cell phones to protect them from scratches and marring of all sort, and from personal experience it is a very impressive product. I have installed it to both my 80GB iPod, my 8700 blackberry and my brand new MacBook and it was unquestionably the best "accessory" money I have spent, ever. On top of protecting them against scratches, it also GREATLY improves your hold of these items, making them completely non-slippery, without making them sticky, which is in fact the thing I like the most about this product.
Now the stuff still get smudgy though, but it cleans very easy with any fabric you have handy, soft or not.
The application process can be a bit unnerving since it requires that you spray/apply some special liquid to the shield before putting it on your electronics (to reduce the chances of having air bubbles under the shield), and as you know, liquids and electronics just don't make for good friends... The trick here is to use the absolute minimum amount of spray required, and only on devices that have had their battery removed. This aspect not withstanding, I highly recommend this product for your iPhone and all your shiny electronics.
Cheers.
