1. how easy was it to take apart the first iphone? i'm curious as i'm sure these plastic back housings will be available in black and white online shortly after the release of the 3g. I know you can just pop off the chrome bezel but i'm not sure if that releases the back housing on the v1 or not, and if that alone, voids any warranty? asking just because it'd be nice to swap between a black back and a white backing.

2. has anyone used the shieldzone skins? i've used the best skins ever skin on a white phone before and after about a month, the skin started turning yellow and attracted much noticable dirt around the edges of the skin. any comment on the shieldzone, not sure if its worth getting over shelling out for a few sets of the bse.

Yea they tend to get dingy quick. I noticed my shieldzone skin would start getting dingy under the corner/side flaps. I believe it happens when I continuously take it in and out of my side-holster and the corners would rub against the inside of the holster. To prevent that, i'm getting a top case where i can slide in only up and down. I hope that prevents it. But regardless, you'll need the shieldzone for the white iPhone anyway!

well, im positive i'll put an invisible shield on, but i always have used the BSE skins, shieldzone is more than double the price of one BSE skin, but the skin tends to discolor, so i was curious about the quality of the shieldzone. maybe i'll stick to the bse and just swap out the skins when its due time.

1. about as easy as taking apart a nice watch. If you're good with very small pieces, you'll be okay. Some people on here posted about changing screens and their phones never working again, so be careful.

2. Never used any sort of shield or case. I carry mine in my pocket unless I'm exercising, then I carry it in a holster on my belt so I can listen to itunes without it pulling on the cord.

So you've had a naked iPhone for the whole year and no problems? Have you dropped it much? I was really worried about that. Used a crystal screen protector and an iSkin revo, but I didn't drop it much and it's a pain in the butt to get in and out of my jeans pocket. I'm thinking about just going naked this time, but I'm apprehensive. Can you tell me more about your experience? No scratches in the glass? Is the body dented or scratched? Are you more worried about the plastic than the metal back?

I use a shuffle when I workout (bought it with my rebate); it's the greatest thing. When it's out of charge and I have to lug a full-size iPod around the gym, I'm miserable.

I dropped it twice. Once on carpet and the other time on ceramic tile. The carpet didn't hurt it at all, but the ceramic tile left a tiny dent in one corner. Most people wouldn't recognize it because it really doesn't look like a dent; it just sort of looks like a flat spot in the curve.

I've dropped mine outside, probably more than once. I want to plan to just "be careful", but I also want white this time. I feel like I've already *had* black because I've had mine in a black case for a year. I want something new... and I want it not to get messed up... but I also want to SEE it.

I guess, really, if this is the biggest problem I have right now (well, other than the whole getting short-changed on the whole dock thing ;) )I should count my blessings and quit worrying, huh?
