NYC teachers, do they qualify for a iphone discount? I heard something about this. If so, would I be better of going to the apple store or att to get my new iphone 3g?

maybe be but i doubt it, i think collages are the only school establishments with partnerships with cellular providers, there is a link somewhere on the forums that lets you check your eligability

I teach elementary school (in CA, not NY) and my district does have a partnership with at&t. I had a monthly discount on my bill prior to my switch to the "ineligible for discount" iPhone. I am looking forward to having that reinstated with the 3G.

Anyway, even if your school district doesn't show up in the list, you should ask. My corporate 'code thing' on my bill shows as "Los Angeles Unified School District"... which is 400+ miles from here and absolutely not my employer. I think they must have realized that they didn't really want to bother with assigning a unique number to every district.
