Just saw my first iPhone 3G commercial on national broadcast.

I was watching How I Met Your Mother and they just ran the new iPhone 3G commercial. Has it been running all day?

I have yet to see one, but we watch mostly cable channels. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. I would think the commercials would be all over the place.

Typically they aim for the largest audiences, so that would be your broadcast networks.

Well yeah. There's only one commercial at the moment, but this was the first time I had seen it aired outside of the Apple keynote and web site.

I was thinking like TBS or even E!. But I wonder if they just came out today. Seems like Apple would have started before today. But I guess it could be more of a blitz campaign just a few days prior to release day.

Maybe they figure that the people who are going to line up on Friday already know about it, so they didn't really need to advertise so much. Plus, they can rely on people like us to provide free advertising to all of our friends, you know?
